  1. Day 1 Arrival Rhodes

    Arrival at Rhodes airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Rhodes.

  2. Day 2 Rhodes Town (half day excursion)

    Today you will visit the old town of the island capital Rhodes. You will first drive to Monte Smith, visit the remains of the Acropolis, the Temple of Apollo and the Stadium. The subsequent tour takes you through the famous Knight’s Street with the hostels of the Knights of St. John as well as through the medieval old town with its fortress walls, city gates and winding alleys. Afterwards, you will visit the Grand Master’s Palace, rebuilt by Italians, with its magnificent rooms and splendid mosaics. Afterwards, you will experience the Orient on Rhodes. The walk leads to the Suleiman Mosque, the Great Clock Tower, the Turkish Library, Socrates Street and the Turkish Bath. Return to the hotel.

  3. Day 3 Lindos - Thermae of Kallithea

    Today’s excursion takes you to Lindos with its beautiful white captain’s houses. You will first visit the Church of Jesus Mother with its beautiful frescoes. Further up, you will visit the archaeological site with the best-preserved acropolis on the island and see the Temple of Athena-Lindia. Afterwards you have time for a walk through the city. In the afternoon you will drive to the thermal springs of Kallithea. Hippocrates already mentioned the healing powers of the springs in his writings. Return to the hotel.

  4. Day 4 Day free disposal or optional: Day trip to the island of Symi

    Excursion by boat to the island of Symi. Visit the Panormitis Monastery of the Archangel Michael, an important pilgrimage site. Continue by boat to the port of Symi. Walk through the harbor village with terraced, abandoned captain’s houses. The island, which was prosperous by boat building and sponge diving until the beginning of the 19th century, now has only about 2500 inhabitants. You will also visit a family sponge diving business. There you will be shown how the sponges are processed and learn about the history of sponge diving. Return to the hotel.

  5. Day 5 Ialyssos - Butterfly Valley - Kamiros

    Today you will explore the west coast of the island. Your excursion will take you first to the ancient site of Ialyssos, also known as Filerimos. You will visit the former temple of Athena, on which the Italian monastery, the medieval chapels of the knights and the remains of an early Christian Basilica were built. Continue to the Butterfly Valley (Petaloudes), home of the Quadrina butterflies, which can be seen there between June and September. Your journey continues to Kamiros. Here you will see excavations from the Hellenistic era and you can then enjoy a magnificent view of the sea. Return to the hotel.

  6. Day 6 Kritinia - Monolithos - Embonas Optional: Wine tasting - Agios Nikolaos Funtukli

    Today’s drive takes you first to Kritinia, where you will visit the remains of a Johannite castle that secured the west coast. Continue to Monolithos, also a 15th century Johannite castle. There is also a chapel of Saint Pantaleon. Afterwards, drive to the mountain village of Embona, situated below the island’s highest mountain, Attaviros. Optional: Here you have the possibility to participate in a wine tasting. Finally, drive along the Profiti Elias mountain to the former monastery of Agios Nikolaos Funtukli. Return to the hotel.

  7. Day 7 Southern Island tour

    Full day island tour along the east coast via Lardos to Laerma. Visit to the monastery church of Thari with frescoes from the early 14th century. Continue to the ancient village of Asklipio and visit the "Fresco Museum" in the 11th century church, whose entire interior is decorated with post-byzantine frescoes. Afterwards, the journey continues to Akrotiri Prassonissi, which offers a fabulous landscape. Return to the hotel.

  8. Day 8 Return journey

    Transfer to Rhodes airport. Return flight home.
