  1. Day 1 Arrival Thessaloniki

    Arrival at Thessaloniki airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

  2. Day 2 Thessaloniki

    The second European church of Apostle Paul was founded in Thessaloniki. He wrote later the legendary Thessalonian letters here. You will see the impressive mosaics in the Byzantine main church of Agios Dimitrios and visit then Agia Sofia and the rotunda at Kamara. The tour continues to the Citadel, the Arch of Galerius and finally the city’s landmark, the White Tower. Afterwards you will visit the archaeological museum. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

  3. Day 3 Pella – Vergina – Edessa

    Drive to Pella, the ancient and former capital of Macedonia, which was also the birthplace of Alexander the Great. Visit the excavations with their famous mosaic floors. Afterwards visit the museum. Continue to Vergina to the most famous archaeological find in northern Greece, the royal tombs. King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, was buried here. Visit the burial treasure and the palace with its impressive mosaics. Afterwards, the journey continues to Edessa. Here you will visit the impressive waterfalls, the Byzantine bridge and the old town. The rest of the journey takes you to Kastoria. Overnight stay in Kastoria.

  4. Day 4 Kastoria – Prespes

    The town of Kastoria is famous for its fur workshops. The townscape is characterized by narrow streets, the old wood-clad houses and the imposing mansions. The first thing you do is stroll through the old town. Kastoria is also called the city of 72 churches. Visit the Folklore Museum and the church Panagia Mavriotissa. Afterwards we continue to the Prespa Lakes. Here you will witness an extraordinary flora and fauna. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Kastoria.

  5. Day 5 Zagorochoria - Vikos Gorge

    You leave your hotel and drive to the Zagorochoria (Monodendri), the land behind the mountains with the most beautiful villages in Greece. Unique is also the gorge of Vikos with the Paraskevi monastery clinging to the rock a thousand meters higher. Continue along the Mitsikeli Mountains via Konitsa, where the wild-flowing Aoos is spanned by the largest single-arch stone bridge from Turkish times, to Ioannina. Overnight stay in Ioannina.

  6. Day 6 Ioannina – Perama

    This morning you will visit the city of Ioannina, which lies on the shores of Lake Pamvoti. There you will start with a city tour through the oriental-looking old town with its city wall, the picturesque narrow alleys and the two citadels. One houses the Aslan Aga Mosque and the other the Folklore Museum. Afterwards, take a boat to the small island on Lake Pamvoti. Here you will visit the house of Ali Pasha and the monastery of Saint Nicholas the Philanthropist. Afterwards you will drive to Perama and visit the cave with the same name with its 19 different types of stalactites and stalagmites. The Perama Cave is considered one of the most beautiful caves in Europe. On leaving the cave, you will have a beautiful view of the city of Ioannina and Lake Pamvotida. Overnight stay in Ioannina.

  7. Day 7 Dodoni – Acheron – Parga

    Today you drive to Dodoni, the oldest oracle site in Greece with the sanctuary of Zeus, the theatre and various temples. Afterwards you will go to the oracle of the dead at Acheron. In mythology, one of the rivers is said to have led to the underworld. The rest of the journey takes you along the coastal road to the picturesque town of Parga, which lies on an idyllic bay. The most prominent point is an old Venetian fortress from the 16th century. The town invites you to take a walk through the narrow streets. Overnight stay in Ioannina.

  8. Day 8 Metsovo - Meteora Monasteries

    The drive takes you to Metsovo. The picturesque town was built over the remains of the ancient Tymphe. The town is characterized by its distinctive traditional architecture and an overwhelming view of the surrounding Pindos peaks, before continuing on to Kalambaka. On the rock towers you can see the monasteries built by monks in Byzantine times, 6 of which are still in operation today. These peculiar geological rock phenomenon have been given the name Meteora, meaning "the floating ones", as the monasteries seem to hover between heaven and earth. In the past, visitors were pulled up to the dizzy heights by the monks in pulleys. Today, a convenient car road leads from Kalambaka up to the monasteries. You will see wonderful wall paintings, relics and icons of inestimable value in two monasteries. The rest of the journey takes you to Nei Pori near Katerini.   9. Day 9 Dion - Mount Olympus

    Today you go on a half-day excursion to Dion, the royal city of Macedonia at the foot of Mount Olympus, the mountain of the gods. Archaeologists have uncovered remains from the Greek to Roman days. Among other things, you can see the paved streets, the temple complex. The baths once had a well-designed water supply system. Afterwards, there is the possibility to go on a hike on the slopes of Mount Olympus through the beautiful landscape. Overnight stay in Nei Pori near Katerini.

  10. Day 10

    Drive to Thessaloniki. Return flight.
