Day 1 Arrival Corfu
Arrival at Corfu Airport. Short drive to the hotel. Overnight stay on Corfu.
Day 2 Paleokastritsa - Achillion
Drive to Paleokastritsa, a beautiful place situated on two bays between impressive cliffs. Here you will be warmly welcomed by the inhabitants of the Monastery of Theotokos (18th century). Experience the tranquility and a deep sense of peace when visiting this place. The flat ceiling inside the church offers a view of scenes from the story of creation. Continue to Gastouri to visit the Achillion, the summer palace of Empress Elizabeth of Austria. The heart of Wilhelm II and "Sissi" was struck by the magic that Corfu exudes. As proof of his love for the island, he bequeathed the Achillion to her. A fairytale-like, enormous residence with magnificent interiors. The stylish garden with its numerous sculptures is dedicated to the legendary and invincible hero Achilleos. Overnight stay in Corfu.
Day 3 Corfu Town - Igoumenitsa Crossing
Today we travel to Corfu Town. Visit the old Venetian fortress and the Kanoni peninsula. Other sightseeing points are the Liston Building, the Esplanade Square and St. Spyridon’s Cathedral. Afterwards you walk through the Venetian old town. Afterwards, take the ferry and cross over to Igoumenitsa. The next stop is Parga. The picturesque harbor town lies in an idyllic bay between Igoumenitsa and Preveza at the foot of a Venetian castle. The numerous small alleys as well as the castle invite you to take a wonderful walk before continuing to your hotel in Lefkada. Overnight stay on Lefkada.
Day 4 Dimosari Waterfall - Maduri Island - Skorpios Island - Meganisi Island
The first stop today is the waterfall in the hinterland of Nidri in the west of the Ionian Island. You will take an easy walk of about 1 hour through the gorge to the waterfall of Dimosari. Afterwards you drive to Nidri, where you take the boat. The boat trip takes you first to the bay of Vlichó. There you will visit the grave of Wilhelm Dörpfeld, who, along with Schliemann, is one of the most famous archaeologists of modern times. You will continue to the island of Maduri, where the famous poet Aristotelis Valaoritis lived and died. Continue by boat to the island of Skorpios, which used to belong to the family of the great shipowner Onasis. Continue by boat to the island of Meganisi, where you can end the day. Return to Lefkada and drive to the hotel. Overnight stay on Lefkada.
Day 5 Lefkada Town - Crossing Astakos at 13:00 - Ithaca at 15:00
Today you will leave your hotel and drive to the island of Lefkada, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Lefkada is the fourth largest island in the Ionian Sea. In Lefkada town you can admire the 13th century Venetian fortress of Santa Maura from the outside, which served as a border post. Above the town you will visit the beautiful monastery of Phaneromeni. Afterwards, you will take the coastal road to Astakos. From here you take the ferry and cross over to the island of Ithaki. Free time on Ithaca, the island of Odysseus. Overnight stay on Ithaca.
Day 6 Island tour of Ithaca
Today you will experience Ithaca on a tour of the island. First you visit the capital of the island of Ithaca. Vathy enchants you with its large natural harbor and many small cafés and tavernas. Here you will visit the Archaeological Museum. You continue to Pilikata, where archaeologists assume, that it was the city of Odysseus. Then you drive to the rustic mountain village of Anogi. Here you will visit the monastery of Katharon. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay on Ithaca.
Day 7 Crossing Ithaca at 09:00 - Kefalonia at 09:30 (island tour) - optional: Robota Winery - Crossing Kefalonia at 18:30 - Zakynthos at 20:00
You leave your hotel and cross over to Kefalonia. You will first visit the capital of Kefalonia. The pretty town of Argostoli was founded by the Venetians and is situated on a beautiful bay surrounded by hills, forming a natural harbor. Via Assos, the journey continues to the nunnery of Saint Gerasimos, who is also the patron saint of the island. Optional: visit to the Robota winery with wine tasting. The drive continues to the famous Melissani Cave Lake, where you will experience an impressive natural spectacle. Afterwards you will take the ferry to the island of Zakynthos. Overnight stay on Zakynthos.
Day 8 Island tour Zakynthos
Enjoy the day by the sea or take a tour of the island. The drive takes you to Ag. Nikolaos, where you have a 30-minute break. Afterwards you will go to the platform where you can take pictures of the shipwreck from above. The drive continues to the village of Volimes, where you can taste traditional delicacies (olives, wine, honey, etc.). Afterwards you will visit the monastery of Anafonitria. In Exohora you will see a 2000-year-old olive tree. In the village of Kampi you will have time to have lunch and relax. Afterwards you will go to Pantokrator where you will visit the Olive Oil Museum (free entrance). You will have a 15-minute guided tour about the old and new production methods, followed by a short film of 5 minutes. Overnight stay on Zakynthos.
Day 9 Keri - Zakynthos Town - Optional: Wine Tasting
Today you will first drive to Bochali, where Zakynthos Town spreads out before continuing to Keri. In Keri, take a look at the harbor and Turtle Island from far. Afterwards, you will drive to Marathias beach and enjoy the beautiful view. Afterwards, the journey continues to the graceful town of Zakynthos. Saint Dionissios is the patron of the island. You will first visit the mausoleum of the poet Solomos and the Venetian harbor square. Afterwards you have free time in Zakynthos town. Then you will visit the church of Saint Dionissios. Optional: Afterwards you have the possibility to participate in a wine tasting. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Zakynthos.
Day 10 Return flight
Drive to the airport of Zakynthos. Return flight.
